FBC Master Planning Info and Feedback

Folks,

Welcome to the FBC Strategic Planning Blog. Our purpose in initiating this blog is to keep you informed as we make progress in developing a Master Plan for our church and to get your feedback/ideas that we can include in our thinking. So feel free to add comments and post questions which we will try to respond to in a timely fashion.

Meanwhile, let's keep praying for God's guidance in our process to seek His will for our work.

Thanks...The Strategic Planning Committee of First Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC

Are there plans to modify Wednesday nights? This seems to attract mainly seniors and the choir. When attending on Wednesday night I usually feel a bit out of place and uncomfortable. It is not a service I invite friends and nieghbors to.

I believe one of the greatest needs for FBC in reaching our goal of winning this city for Christ, is the need of diversifying the staff. While we are doing a good job reaching people of various races and cultures, we fail to hold them for long periods of time. This is largely because of our insistence on having a one-race staff and leadership. Single race churches are declining and if we at FBC truly want to influence this city for Christ, we must be willing to place people of color on staff and in leadership positions. If any strategic plan is going to be worth its weight in salt it must include diversification of leadership.
